1. Introduction

These Terms of Business set out the basis on which ASD Next Gen Limited (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides membership services, events, and related offerings through its trading brand, the Association of Sporting Directors (“ASD”).

“ASD” is the trading name used for branding, marketing, and membership activities.ASD Next Gen Limited is the legal entity responsible for operating the services and website.

By applying for membership, accessing our services, or using our website, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. About ASD

The Association of Sporting Directors is a professional membership organisation supporting, connecting, and developing leaders working within professional football and wider sporting environments.

Membership is designed for individuals operating in senior football leadership roles such as Sporting Director, Director of Football, Technical Director, Head of Recruitment, Academy Director, Chief Scout, and similar positions.

3. Membership Eligibility & Approval

Membership is open to individuals who have held, or currently hold, senior leadership roles within professional football or equivalent sporting organisations.

Applicants must demonstrate relevant experience in roles such as (but not limited to):

  • Sporting Director
  • Director of Football
  • Technical Director
  • Head of Recruitment
  • Academy Director
  • Chief Scout
  • Loan / Pathways Manager

All applications are subject to review and approval by ASD management in consultation with the technical committee.

ASD reserves the right to accept or decline membership applications at its sole discretion.

4. Membership Types

ASD offers different membership levels as outlined on our official website, including (but not limited to):

  • ASD Membership
  • ASD Executive Membership
  • Club / Group Membership (where applicable)

Each membership level includes specific benefits, access, and pricing as published on the ASD website from time to time.

5. Fees & Payment

Where membership fees apply:

  • Fees are charged on a yearly subscription basis unless otherwise stated
  • Prices are published on the ASD website and may be updated periodically
  • Payments must be made in full before access to membership benefits is granted
  • All fees are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise

ASD reserves the right to suspend access to services where payments are not received.

6. Membership Benefits

Membership benefits may include (depending on tier):

  • Access to professional development programmes
  • Online and in-person events
  • Webinars and knowledge exchange sessions
  • Educational resources and content libraries
  • Networking opportunities within the ASD global community
  • Career and advisory support services

7. Use of Website & Content

Members and users agree:

  • Not to copy, distribute, or reproduce ASD content without permission
  • Not to misuse the website or attempt to gain unauthorised access
  • To use all content for personal and professional development purposes only

All intellectual property, including content, branding, materials, and resources, remain the property of ASD unless otherwise stated.

8. Events & Programmes

From time to time, ASD may host events, conferences, workshops, and educational programmes.

For these:

  • Attendance may be subject to separate booking terms
  • ASD reserves the right to change, postpone, or cancel events where necessary
  • Refunds (where applicable) will be subject to the specific event terms
  • ASD is not responsible for travel, accommodation, or related costs unless explicitly stated

9. Termination of Membership

ASD reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership if:

  • Terms are breached
  • Behaviour is deemed inappropriate or harmful to the community
  • Payment obligations are not met
  • False or misleading information is provided during application

Members may cancel their membership in line with subscription terms, however refunds are not guaranteed unless stated in specific circumstances.

10. Limitation of Liability

ASD will not be liable for:

  • Any indirect or consequential loss
  • Loss of business, opportunity, or earnings
  • Reliance placed on information or content provided through membership services

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or any liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

11. Data Protection & Privacy

ASD processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection legislation.

12. Changes to Terms

ASD may update these Terms from time to time. Updated versions will be published on our website, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of any changes.
