The Association of Sporting Directors (ASD), an organization that supports, connects, and develops sporting directors, has partnered with Gemini Sports, a provider of squad management solutions for professional sporting organizations.
Gemini empowers teams to understand, add to, and profitably sustain their squads more successfully by delivering fast and easy workflows through an AI-co-pilot-style mobile application. By focusing on user experience, Gemini reduces the reliance of decision-making executives on data teams, allowing those engineers to focus on more complex and bespoke projects. Gemini’s partnerships with tech industry giants like Snowflake Data Cloud, Databricks, and Amazon Web Services, along with sports tech vendors such as StatsBomb, SkillCorner, and Impect, enable them to deliver automated and enriched data with a seamless setup made for each customer’s unique game model, ambitions, and workflow preferences. Scouting reports can be entered in the mobile application and easily customized, making subjective and objective data available on one page together, including AI summaries, automated alerts, and more. Data teams can flexibly access, iterate, and contribute their own models through Gemini’s API, making this a truly collaborative platform.
Already serving customers such as the Indianapolis Colts, the University of Virginia Men’s Basketball team, Parma Calcio, and Queens Park Rangers Football Club, Gemini has focused its product development on football (soccer) this year. Their investors own 27 sporting organizations around the globe and include several high-profile Venture Capital groups.
“There is a new generation of executives who have intellectually embraced data yet lack the practical tools to easily do so. The key to any innovation is openness to changing how one operates while finding ways to be successful at the same job tasks as always. Being in the room with the Association of Sporting Directors has already been illuminating for me because all the members are clearly hungry to innovate but also to collaborate. Daniel, Joel, and crew have created something special here, and I’m delighted to become a small part of it!” – Gemini CEO Jake Schuster
“Our members are constantly seeking ways to work more efficiently, and the challenge of siloed information and fractured decision-making processes around recruitment has become clear over the past few years, especially as teams buy more data. There is clearly a gap in the market where football teams don’t want to also have to become software companies, and whatever internal solutions they build can be very complementary to Gemini’s offerings. Many companies in this space seem to focus on what exciting things can be done with the data, while Gemini are focused on how to help people do their jobs faster and easier. Our team have enjoyed getting to know Jake, and we feel that his solutions can offer a highly relevant and thoughtful contribution to any ASD member. — Dr. Daniel Parnell, Association of Sporting Directors CEO
